Good grief, Reg Keating is prolific. I've taken a look at www.countysongs.ie/song/?songwriter=Reg%20KeatingThis isn't Reg but it's worth a shout: All together now! They call us Newcastle United, They call us the cream of the land, And here's to Bobby Moncur, The Fairs Cup in his hand, We're better than Glasgow Rangers, We're better than Celtic too, And if you don't support us, You must be a Sunderland... ...Joe Joe Harvey

O'Brien O'Brien and, to the tune of You Are My SunshineWe are the Geordies The Geordie boot boys Oh we are mental And we are mad We are the loyalest Football supporters The world has ever had There's one about Adam Johnson as well but I expect we've all heard it.

"We are the loyalest football supporters the world has ever had" I'm glad you said "loyalest" because there are online versions which say "loudest". Having said that so many so-called transcriptions of football songs are truly dire. And it's sung with considerable irony by all and sundry including those who are far too young to have encountered the original boy boys. There's a Sunderland version too. Just as there is a Leeds United adaptation of Black Velvet Band: "and there stood Billy Bremner with the FA Cup in his hand" "We are the Pride of all Europe, the Cock of the North" was a footbal chart-topper back in the 1970s. Is it still sung? My favourite variation was Everton's which included the boast that "We only drink whisk(e)y and bottles of brown, the Everton boys are in town!"

Looks like several members of the audience have heard it all too many times before. And is that a pasties-delivered-to-your-table service?
